I’m sure many of us have dreamt about owning a shop full of beautiful yarns, glorious fabrics and happy customers. Ginevra Croft had that dream and nearly two years ago, she opened The Wool Croft in Abergavenny. This shop is enticing from the outside, with an attractive window display which allows the inside to be glimpsed.
Inside there are inspiring yarns, from both large and small producers, sample garments, knitting and crochet equipment, patterns, books and somewhere to sit while you browse. Ginevra is an enthusiastic knitter and her staff are friendly; they are happy give advice about yarn, patterns and techniques.
The Wool Croft also sells needle-felting supplies, felt and fabrics as well as gifts and cards suitable for the yarn lovers in your life. I loved this display of darning wools from Laine St Pierre.
And these colourful rolls of felt.
I was visiting to run a couple of workshops. The first was a two-day workshop called Fantastic Fair Isle. The second was a one-day workshop called Fair Isle – First Steps. More about those in the next post!
