Spend a day learning a new knitting or crochet technique

Nicki is an experienced knitting and crochet tutor. She runs friendly, small-group, one-day workshops where you can learn new techniques and build confidence in your knitting and crochet. 

Workshops cost from £62.50 and run from 10:00–16:00 on Saturdays – a relaxed, practical day of knitting or crochet. Places are limited to seven students so that everyone receives plenty of individual help. Workshops take place at the Being Knitterly Studio in Loughborough.

What you can expect from a workshop

  • A friendly, relaxed day of knitting or crochet with a small group (limited to seven students).
  • Clear demonstrations and step-by-step guidance.
  • Plenty of time to practise new techniques and ask questions.
  • Individual help if you get stuck.
  • Written instructions to take home.
  • Homemade soup and cake at lunchtime.

You’ll leave with new skills, written instructions, and the confidence to continue the technique at home.

Fair Isle Knitting level 1

This colourful Fair Isle headband is the project for Level 1 Fair Isle Knitting workshops

Level 1 is suitable for knitters with little or no experience of the techniques used in Fair Isle knitting. 

Levels 1, 2 and 3 are available at all Fair Isle Knitting workshops.

Fair Isle Knitting level 2

This colourful Fair Isle headband is the project for Level 2 Fair Isle Knitting workshops

Level 2 is for knitters who hold one yarn in each hand when working stranded colourwork and would like to try a two-colour rib or working with both yarns in one hand. 

Levels 1, 2 and 3 are available at all Fair Isle Knitting workshops.

Level 3 is suitable for knitters who are confident holding one yarn in each hand when working stranded colourwork, and would like to knit and finish a steek.

Modular Knitting level 1

A workshop sample of modular knitting with nine squares knitted in stripes of undyed wool yarn in different colours.

Level 1 is suitable for knitters who are confident with casting on, casting off, and working in garter and stocking stitch.

Levels 1 and 2 are available at all Modular Knitting workshops.

Modular Knitting level 2

Level 2 is suitable for knitters who have knitted basic mitred squares (in garter stitch with one mitre) and are confident with knitting in the round.

Levels 1 and 2 are available at all Modular Knitting workshops.
