Asymmetric triangular shawl worked from single point to shortest edge by increasing along one side. Two shorter sides are finished with brioche rib.

Painterly shawl

Knit Now magazine has just been published the pattern for my Painterly shawl. It is a colourful asymmetric shawl. The colours and stitch patterns were inspired by brushstrokes in paintings by Van Gogh.

The Knitter magazine has just published the pattern for my Winchester sweater. Winchester is a men's sweater which features an allover cable stitch pattern inspired by Gothic cathedrals.

Cable cast-on method – a left-handed knitting tutorial

The cable cast-on method is my go-to method for teaching beginners. I like it because a new stitch is formed by moving the yarn in the same way as knitting, which means less for beginners to learn. And this method produces a cast-on edge that is firm and tidy even after knitting rows of stitches.
