Rose Petal mittens

Yarn pack for Rose Petal mittens

The Rose Petal mittens are inspired by a beautiful bouquet of roses in many colours. The brighter colours are used for the floral pattern and the softer colours for the background.

The Rose Petal mittens pattern is for traditional-style mittens knitted in the round from the wrist up. The cuff is worked in a corrugated rib in which both the knit and purl stitches change colour. This is followed by the stranded colourwork section. The thumb gusset starts at the base of the palm, and, once the thumb gusset is wide enough, the thumb opening is positioned by using waste yarn. After the rest of the mitten is complete, the waste yarn is removed, and the thumb is then finished.

You will also require a copy of Fair Isle Knitting and Design for the pattern.
