Patterns

How do I purchase your patterns?

Digital patterns are delivered as an email attachment.  This email will be sent as soon as the payment has cleared.

Do you give refunds for patterns?

We are not able to give refunds on digital patterns.  Please check you have added the correct pattern to your cart before completing the purchase.  It is your responsibility to save the content once the file has downloaded.

What is your quality control procedure for patterns?

Every Nicki Merrall Designs knitting and crochet pattern is tested to ensure that it reads well, makes sense and is error-free.

As a knitter who knits left-handed, Nicki writes the draft instructions for her designs for left-handed knitting.  Once she has finalized the draft instructions, she converts them for right-handed knitting.

Our test knitters, who all knit right-handed check the pattern for clarity in terms of presentation and wording, knit the designs in the suggested yarns, to the stated tension, checking that the conversion to right-handed knitting makes sense.

They provide us with detailed feedback that enables Nicki to make adjustments to the right-handed instructions and convert them back to left-handed instructions.  Thus we can publish patterns for knitters who knit left-handed or right-handed.

We are only human, so errors may occasionally occur.  Should you think you have found an error, please email me describing the problem.  We shall check the pattern and amend as necessary.  Customers who have already purchased the pattern will receive a corrected version by email; the up-to-date pattern will be uploaded onto our online and Ravelry stores so that future customers will also receive the correct pattern.

Where third parties have published one of Nicki’s patterns, errors may arise for other reasons and may be out of our control.  Despite this, we should appreciate it if you let us know if you find an error and we shall do what we can to rectify this.
