Striated cowl

Striated cowl

I love the fresh green of spring leaves and cheerful spring flowers. Although the weather can be a bit chilly, I’m usually ready for a change from winter woollies. The Striated cowl is light and can be worn as a single loop or doubled up for extra warmth.

The pattern for the Striated cowl is available to purchase here as a printed pattern. Alternatively, you can purchase it as a digital pdf download from the Being Knitterly Ravelry store. You can also buy a yarn pack for the Striated cowl.

This pattern is available in two versions: there’s one written for those who knit left-handed as well as the standard one for those who knit right-handed. If you purchase the printed pattern and would like the pattern for knitting left-handed please say so in your order notes at check out.

Description

Striated begins with a provisional cast-on, is knitted in rows using a simple, but striking faggot stitch and is edged with a chain selvedge. It is finished by grafting the two ends together, making the finished cowl seamless. It would make a great project for someone new to lace knitting.

The pattern for the Striated cowl is available here as a printed pattern or as a download from the Being Knitterly Ravelry store.

Other details

This pattern is available in two versions: the standard one for those who knit right-handed and an alternative one written for those who knit left-handed. If you purchase the printed pattern and would like the pattern for knitting left-handed, please say so in your order notes at checkout.

Most of you knit right-handed, that is, your stitches move from the left-hand to the right-hand needle as you knit.

Some of you knit left-handed, that is, your stitches move from the right-hand to the left-hand needle as you knit.

If you are a left-handed knitter who knits right-handed, that is your stitches move from the left to right needle, you should use the pattern for knitting right-handed.

Designer: Nicki Merrall (Being Knitterly).
